How come the Old Testament portrays God with anger problems and little patience....?

Once I actually STUDIED and understood the Old Testament accurately I realized that the notion of the OT God being an angry GOD was really a flawed view and HE wasn't that at ALL.... As I read it now I don't view Him from that perspective anymore....
