Best gr for shade with vibrant color?

Hi all! I am located in St. Louis, MO. We typically have short springs here and very humid, hot summers. I am looking for gr that will do well in mostly shade, with a little sun. I just planted some wheat gr in the area and covered it with some compost, but I don't know if that will grow well or not. Can anyone suggest a gr seed available that has a vibrant color and grows thick in shaded areas?
