How much better will Carmelo Anthony really make the Knicks?

Just saying to all the Knicks fans who think they have it made if they get Carmelo, how much better will he really make you? I mean you'll be better, no doubt about it. But, you still won't be as good as Boston, Miami, or Chicago. Anthony's a great scorer but he doesn't play defense. Then again, neither do the Knicks. So my question is do you think Carmelo would help the Knicks as much as people think he will?
